Connect With Illinois' Top High School Art Students

An immensely successful aspect of IHSAE programming is the College Recruitment Fair.

Admissions Representatives can use this time to:

  • Cultivate conversations with our IHSAE high school art students interested in pursuing post-secondary study in visual art and related disciplines.

  • Identify and network with prospective IHSAE students

  • Inform students and parents about educational opportunities on your campus

  • Discuss admission procedures & entrance requirements

  • Provide information regarding financial aid

  • Conduct portfolio reviews for prospective students

  • Promote available scholarship opportunities

  • Lay the groundwork for establishing a strong visual arts presence in Illinois

  • Invite potential students to take part in a campus visit

MIAD’s relationships with the Illinois High School Art Exhibition has been phenomenal. IHSAE facilitates meaningful connections for us — through exhibitions of student work, on-campus trips, mature discourse about creative education, and more. The program is an anchor for our recruitment and relationship-building throughout Illinois.

The IHSAE is a strong supporter of ECP/Summer Intensives

There is no denying the positive impact Early College programs have on students. With your involvement in IHSAE, please consider offering students an ECP/Summer Intensive as part of your school's sponsorship. It’s a great way to connect with students on your campus and gain added exposure for your visual arts program.

The IHSAE has designated this time exclusively for our college sponsors offering ECP/Summer Intensives to be in the gallery to make their selections.

Selecting Artwork:

The IHSAE utilizes a “draft style” order to conduct student selections based on the level of sponsorship. This is done in an effort to provide a fair and level playing field for all participating art schools, colleges and universities. Selection order will be provided to each school at the selection event. Please be advised, admissions representatives will be responsible for making all student selections.

In the event a representative cannot attend and you’d like to have an IHSAE representative make your selections, please contact John Zilewicz at

ECP/Summer Intensive Awards Presentation/Documentation:

The IHSAE will recognize all students selected for an Early College Program/Summer Intensives at the General Exhibition Awards Ceremony. To promote your school to all our guests, the IHSAE asks that each sponsoring school include the following items:

  • Certificate to award IHSAE student at the Awards Ceremony.

  • Document containing specific details/contacts/criteria for IHSAE students accepting the award.

  • Recognition tag w/ school Logo to place next to IHSAE students artwork (no larger than 4”x5”).
